Obligate intracellular organisms are not capa ble of the metabolic pathways for ATP synthesis and thus must steal ATP from their host. These bacteria live in their host cell and cannot survive without the host. Examples of obligate intracellur organisms are Chlamydia and Rickettsia. They are energy para sites because they need their host's ATP as an energy source. They possess a special cell membrane transport system to steal ATP.
